For Immediate Release

Livingston, New Jersey: As you may not know, many selective colleges in 42 states are following Harvard’s admissions model by using ILLEGAL racial quotas, racial stereotypes and higher standards to discriminate against Asian-American applicants. Year after year, countless Asian-American students, who demonstrate exceptional records in both academic and extracurricular activities, are unfairly and unlawfully rejected. Though significant efforts have been made by the the Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) and Asian American Coalition for Education (AACE) in our fight against such social injustice, we are far from achieving a complete success in this hard-fought battle.
Just as it took the civil rights movement 20 years or until the late 1960s to claim victory, persistent efforts from the Asian-American community are needed to achieve equal education rights for our children. In this spirit, AACE calls upon all Asian-American applicants who were unfairly rejected by any American college this year (the 2018-9 college admissions season) to join us:
1. If you were unfairly rejected by the Harvard University, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2019, you can join SFFA’s legal battles to defend your constitutional rights and maintain our legal standing. Your name(s) will be kept confidential by SFFA.
2. If you were rejected by other colleges, AACE will support you in filing civil rights complaints with the Department of Education Office for Civil Rights. (As required by the Department of Education, any complainant shall submit a complaint within 180 days after the suspected discriminatory treatment. It will take 30 minutes to fill out the online form.)
There is a long journey ahead in our pursuit of equal treatment and justice. Its success hinges upon each and every of you to stand up in solidarity against entrenched discrimination in college admissions!
AACE strives to provide eligible students with reasonable assistance on both fronts. If you are interested filing a civil rights complaint, please contact Professor Chunyan Li at: [email protected]. To join SFFA’s legal actions, you may also directly contact SFFA at: https://studentsforfairadmissions.org/.
You can also help promote our cause by forwarding this message to other Asian-American parents!
Thank you in advance for your courageous act to join this just battle!

About the AACE: www.asianamericanforeducation.org
The Asian American Coalition for Education (AACE) is a non-political, nonprofit, grassroots national organization, the proven leader in fighting for Asian-American children’s equal educational rights. On May 15, 2015, the founders of AACE united 64 Asian-American organizations and jointly filed a civil rights complaint with the Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to request that they conduct investigations into Harvard University’s discriminatory admissions practices against Asian-American applicants. As the largest joint action taken by Asian-American communities over the last few decades, this complaint is now being investigated by the Justice Department. Over the years, we have advanced the cause of equal education rights for the Asian-American community.
